Open Road - Info

In 1998 and 1999 I put out a series of e-mail e-zine reviews called the Open Road. There we showcased in a publication called The Sideroad run by Michael and Heather Chwastiak. These columns are still on the Sideroad site, but I figured that I wanna make sure that they stay up so I put the full index here.

In hindsight it looks like I was overloaded on superlatives and was a touch overly gracious too often. On the other hand I really mostly ended up reviewing e-zines and newsletters that I was very familiar with and actually liked quite a bit. The writing isn't fabulous, but it was the first regular writing project that I'd ever taken on. Meeting the deadline and doing the research for the review was quite a bit of fun.

Working with Heather and Michael made for a good work environment. They whole Sideroad publication is still going strong after a hiatus and has a who slew of new experts providing columns. The Chwastiaks are still running the show and seem to be doing quite well.
